Ain’t seen no rain in 30 days
It’s a July drought in a Midwest
haze
Ain’t an inch of ground that ain’t
cracked and dry
And the morning sun’s already burnin
hot in the sky
Night and day
Strive and pray
But there ain’t no way I can give
it up
It’s in my blood
Ya see I’ve worked my whole life
in these fields
From the time that I could climb
a hill
And I’ve fought the wind and floods
and hail
And I’ve seen it shine and I’ve
seen it fail
I’ve been told
There’s better roads
Guess they don’t know I’m my daddy’s
son
It’s in my blood
It’s in my blood
Head to toe
Mind and body
Heart and soul
Calloused hands
Weathered skin
Are just a part of who I am
When ya see those amber waves of
grain
Then ya see what’s runnin through
these veins
It ain’t just how I live or what
I love
It’s in my blood
That red tractor’s getting old
But the new ones must be made of
gold
So I’ll get by with this one here
And hope she makes another year
Corn and beans
Ponds and creeks
Winter wheat
Dust and mud
It’s in my blood
