Black
Cats
It was late
night a few nights, three or four or five nights ago
I was sittin'
round pourin' down cold ones with my buddy Joe
I must’ve
lit up when she walked in
'Cause the
bartender said, “Hey friend
Before ya
get too excited there’s somethin' that you should know"
That girl is….
Black cats,
broken mirrors
She cries
those croc-o-dee-ile tears
Oh she’s spilled
salt, yes sir
There’s a
cold dark cloud hangin' over her
She says she’s
21 but she’s 13 times 2
Oh-a-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa
She’s taboo
But that long
dark hair and those teal green eyes
Set the snips
and the snails on the trail to the sugar and spice
Man I swear,
I was hypnotized
There was
somethin' in the air… in the air that night
We left her
car at the bar, took a moonlight drive in my Ford
She rolled
down the window and the button broke off the door
She threw
a bottle at a sign
Hit the cop
that was parked behind
Then put her
foot on my foot and pushed the gas all the way to the floor
We went flyin'…
Black cats,
broken mirrors
She cries
those croc-o-dee-ile tears
Oh she’s spilled
salt, yes sir
There’s a
cold dark cloud hangin' over her
She says she’s
21 but she’s 13 times 2
Oh-a-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa
She’s taboo
I’d make a
long story short but I guess I’ve got plenty of time
'Cause now
the Kansas patrol owns a new truck that used to be mine
I heard they
let the girl go free
She put all
the blame on me
And as I stare
through the bars at the stars I can hear that old night wind cryin'
Black cats,
broken mirrors
She cries
those croc-o-dee-ile tears
Oh she’s spilled
salt, yes sir
There’s a
cold dark cloud hangin' over her
She says she’s
21 but she’s 13 times 2
Oh-a-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa
She’s taboo
