A Bright and Distant Shore
Like through a looking glass
When we are known as sinners no
more
We’ll forever get to love and be
With those we once have known
When we walk upon that bright
and distant shore
On that bright and distant shore
Where time will be no more
And then dead in Christ will walk on hallowed sand
Where the Father, Son and Holy Ghost
Will take you by the heart
And give to you the gift that is his plan
Like roses growing in the wild
Or a clover field in spring
A sight that only angel’s words have told
All you have to do is take a stand
And the faith you have don’t fold
For the wrongs you’ve done, just say I’m sorry Lord
On that bright and distant shore
Where time will be no more
And the dead in Christ will walk on hallowed sand
Where the Father, Son and Holy Ghost
Will take you by the heart
And give to you the gift that is his plan
When you get there and you gaze upon
The face of our dear Lord
And he tells you, son, you’re written in the book
When you thought that you had reached the end
You’ll find it’s just begun
It started when you gave your life to Him
On that bright and distant shore
