THE MOVE
Her
mama said she up and moved to Denver
"I'm
going there to stay"
Was
all she'd say
While
life remains unchanged back here in Memphis
She’s
a mile high
And
I’ll never be the same
You
know I've never seen those Colorado mountains
But
I hear the beauty's somthing to behold
Well
the beauty I held here was all I needed
But
she headed down some rocky mountain road
It wasn’t
me or Tennesee that she was leaving
No
it’s not the state
It’s
just her state of mind
And
you know I miss her and I pray
there’ll
come some reason
That’ll
bring her back
Off
Rocky Mountain Time
You
know I've never seen those Colorado mountains
But
I hear the colors take your breath away
Well,
since I'm barely breathing here without you
Without
you here is where I'm gonna stay
You
know I look for you each Sunday on the big screen
The
game is always on down at the bar
And
in a sea of blue and orange I think I see your smiling face
Just
before they carry me out to the car
And
I try to picture you in Colorado
With
windburned cheeks and snowlight on your face
What's
even harder, try to picture me without you
But
the picture's getting clearer every day
Oh yes,
that picture's getting clearer every day
